This policy describes how the Vitola app (“the app”, “we”) collects, uses and protects your data. Vitola is a free collection-management app — wine cellar, spirits and cigars — published by Erwann Giffault.
When you create an account and use the app, we collect:
We collect no location data and no advertising identifier; the app contains no ads, no third-party trackers and no in-app purchases.
Access to the camera and photo library is only requested when you choose to add a photo to a reference or a tasting. Photos are stored with your account and are visible only to you and the friends you have accepted.
Your data is used solely to run the app: display your cellar and tastings, and enable sharing with the friends you added yourself. Archived tastings remain private.
Data is securely hosted by Supabase (infrastructure located in the European Union). Access is protected by security rules that prevent any user from accessing another user's data without a friendship link.
When you search for a reference, the app queries public databases to pre-fill the record: Open Food Facts for wines and spirits (open database, ODbL licence), and public pages of cigares.com for cigars. Only your search text is sent; no personal data is.
We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes.
Under the GDPR, you can at any time:
Your data is kept as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all your data (containers, references, tastings, photos, profile, friendship links) is erased from our servers.
